What Is The Cause Of Low Back Pain in Little Falls, NJ
July 22, 2025How Core Chiropractic Eliminates Lower Back Pain in Little Falls, NJ
Hi there! Welcome to Core Chiropractic. My name is Dr. Joann Giesenhaus, but everyone just calls me Dr. Jo — welcome!
This walkthrough is to let you know exactly what to expect when you visit our office for your first appointment.
Your Check-In Process
When you arrive at CORE Chiropractic, you’ll sign in at the front. One of our friendly team members will greet you and provide any remaining paperwork you might need. You can take a seat right in our reception area to complete that.
Your One-on-One Evaluation
Once you’re ready, you’ll come with me to the exam room — this is where the real detective work begins!
We’ll talk about the symptoms your body may be signaling — whether that’s neck pain, headaches, TMJ, shoulder tension, mid-back issues, or low back pain like sciatica or pain that radiates into the hips, knees, or feet.
We’ll do a one-on-one consultation to get the specific details of your case and uncover the root cause of what’s happening in your body.
BioStructural and Postural Screening
After that, we’ll move into our BioStructural Examination.
You’ll step up onto bilateral scales. This tells us if your body weight is shifted to the right or left — and helps us map the outside of the body to what’s going on inside.
Next, we’ll take a digital postural screening. This will reveal any distortions in your posture — like high shoulders or forward head tilt, often caused by phone use or sitting at a desk. Posture is the mirror of spinal health, and this gives us valuable insights.
Spinal Exam and Motion Study X-Rays
Then we’ll do a hands-on spinal exam, where I’ll assess your spine — either with you lying face down or seated — palpating to check for any stuck joints, muscle asymmetry, or areas of tightness and stiffness.
Following this, we’ll take motion study X-rays. These are a game-changer! We’ll have you bend, twist, and move as we X-ray your spine in real time. This shows us whether any bones are “stuck” or not moving as they should.
Understanding Vertebral Subluxations
If we find any of those stuck bones, it may indicate a condition called vertebral subluxation — which means a spinal bone is out of alignment or stuck out of place.
This puts pressure on the spinal nerves, which innervate every muscle, ligament, tendon, and organ in your body. Without clear communication between your brain and body through those nerves, you can experience symptoms like sciatica, headaches, and chronic pain.
Creating Your Corrective Care Plan
Once we gather all this information, we’ll either review your results later that same day or the next day, depending on your schedule.
We’ll go over your motion study X-rays and our exam findings together — and then present your Corrective Care Plan, designed specifically to help remove subluxations and stabilize your spine.
The Adjustment Room
Next, we’ll head into the adjusting room, where your chiropractic adjustment will take place.
We can perform your adjustment either lying down or seated (for patients who can’t lie down). We use a gentle, precise tool called the ArthroStim, which you’ll hear as a light “tap-tap-tap.” This helps align the spine and restore communication in your nervous system.
We also use a second tool called the VibraCussor — a favorite among our patients. It increases blood flow and oxygen to the tissues and discs, helping reduce pressure on the nerves and promoting healing.
The Therapy Suite
After your adjustment, we’ll guide you to our therapy suite to help stabilize and reinforce your correction.
This is a crucial part of care — we don’t just want to correct your spine, we want to make sure those corrections hold, so you don’t end up back where you started.
In the therapy suite, we use tools like:
- Spinal traction to open disc spaces and allow for proper hydration
- Disc pumping exercises to strengthen your core and support 250+ muscles and ligaments
- Resistance bands for mid-back, shoulders, neck, and lower back stability
- Every therapy is done one-on-one, tailored specifically to you and your progress.
We do all of this because we want to help you live the life you want to live — and do the things you love to do.
Thank you so much for choosing Core Chiropractic. We’re honored to be part of your health journey!
